Der zur Six Flags-Gruppe gehörende Amusement Park "The Great Escape" in Lake George, New York (USA) wird in 2005 einen komplett neuen Kinderbereich mit Fahrgeschäften und einer Show unter dem Namen "Looney Tunes National Park" eröffnen.

rcdb.com LAKE GEORGE, N.Y., February 24, 2005 -- The Great Escape today unveiled an exciting new addition for the 2005 season when officials announced the debut of Looney Tunes National Park. The park will be made up of ten new rides and attractions, and will be home to six of the legendary Looney Tunes characters. The new Looney Tunes National Park will also include a new show called "Looney Tunes - We Got the Beat!" and a newly themed Looney Tunes restaurant, called the Character Café.

"The opening of the Looney Tunes National Park is another example of our dedication to providing the best family theme park experience in the Northeast," said John Collins, vice president and general manager of The Great Escape.

Looney Tunes National Park: The Announcement

Collins' remarks were made during the announcement of the new Looney Tunes National Park at the YMCA of Guilderland. There, dozens of enthusiastic children witnessed as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Tweety made a surprise appearance. Collins and The Great Escape's Marketing Director, Jennifer Mance, quickly joined in the celebration where children wearing bunny ears danced with Looney Tunes characters and enjoyed carrot cake and punch.

Looney Tunes National Park: Ten New Rides and Attractions

Looney Tunes National Park will feature ten exciting new rides and attractions designed especially for the little ones. New rides include:

Taz Twister - a children's swing ride that features sixteen swings each held by one of the many "arms" of the infamous Tasmanian Devil.
Bugs Bunny Ranger Pilots - a children's airplane ride that allows kids to literally take flight as they soar up into the air.
Tweety Tweehouse - the vertical centerpiece of Looney Tunes National Park, where passengers are seated across the length of one car, lifted into the air and then lowered in a quick series of short dips.
Speedy Gonzales Camptown Racers – a ride made up of beautifully decorated two-seater race cars that run over a flashy oval track.
Elmer Fudd Scenic Railway - a leisurely train ride that accommodates dozens of children as they ride in colorful train cars along a winding track.
Looney Tunes National Park: "Looney Tunes - We Got the Beat!"

The Great Escape's new show, "Looney Tunes - We Got the Beat!" features Bugs Bunny and friends as they sing and dance into the hearts of guests young and old with an extravaganza of fun featuring rock music from the 1980's. Bugs, Daffy, Tweety and the rest of the Looney Tunes characters will dance, clap, and sing along with audience members to hits including: "We Got the Beat (The Go-Go's)," "R.O.C.K. in the USA (John Cougar)," "Stray Cat Strut (The Stray Cats)," and more.

Looney Tunes National Park: The Character Café

The newly themed Character Café will feature tasty foods and beverages designed to appeal to kids and families. Many menu items have been named after Looney Tunes characters.
