I was so excited to ride this, I met up with it 5 years ago in New Jersey and it was closed. This time I got to ride... but found the ride was absolutely terrible.

thanks for sharing this huge trip report with those wonderful impressions. Sorry, that you had that much rain on your last day and that you didn't enjoy riding Xcalibur. Anyway, my last ride on that ride is almost ten years away from today (1995 in Crange), but I still remember it as an awesome experience. Well, maybe I'm older now and rides have changed concerning intensity. I love the look you guys have for (sexual  ) details when going out with a camera. Superb.
I think I wouldn't have gone onto that arch in St. Louis if I were at that town. It is so huge and the lift seems to be very small spaced. Thanks again for sharing and meeting Roman, Kurt, Dave and you. Hope our UK-tour next week will be as much fun as your trip. Best wishes Thorsten. |

Hey guys!
@ Tejay, Regarding Xcalibur! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad ride to me because it *wasn't* intense.... quite the contrary. I think my stomach isn't as good on constant-spining rides... half of the ride was fine (when it gets to the top, that's great!), but at the bottom, when you are just staring straight up and spining... I didn't do too well with that part. The Arch is absolutely amazing, I can't believe that it exists. The lift system could only be concieved by an American, and only in the USA could something so outrageous actually fly. @ Michael, I'm not sure what the Thumbs Up Award is but thanks very much 
And I'll split you of the cost on the hot dog maker 
I was worried some of our photos were too graphic for the audience at onride. I'm glad that's not the case. In fact I cut out about 10 or 15 pictures that were even worse!

Does the ride still stop after the mai arm has made a 90° turn? Or does it simply make a 360° revolution without stopping? At Crange the ride stopped at least on top and changed the direction of the gondola-rotation, thus you had a short stop on top. It usually stopped in a 90° / or 270° position to do some extensive loopings. Well, I was also a little worried, but by now no complaints, you can send the dirty stuff to my pm-account, I will think about an "over-18-section" at onride.  |

Both planes were the same type, I think DC-9-40, but I'm not quite sure!
