Which of these rides is better? I have heard Expedition GeForce is an airtime machine while Silver Star is taller and faster.
How to get to Holiday Park and Europa Park from Frankfurt? |

Expedition Geforce is better. I was on both and Geforce has more thrill (geforce is my faforite coaster). Silverstar is an very boring coaster.

I'm in the minority who prefer Silverstar.
Intamin's trains are horrible, you get stapled by the ride staff and the coaster is terribly overrated. A coaster with an exceptional first drop with an average course with dull corners and a ride that gets weaker towards the end of the ride. |

well, in my opinion it depends on your personal preferences which coaster you'll like more. Expedition GeForce is the rougher and more intense one of those two beauties. The first drop is breathtaking and on the rest of the course you can expect loads of massive airtime. You'll feel like being shot off your seat. So if you like it hard and breathtaking take a ride on Expedition GeForce. Silver Star is the more luxurious and smoother coaster of them. The first drop is great too, but the moments of airtime are more floating than on Expedition GeForce. In addtion to this it seems important to me to mention the marvellous seats that are typical for Bolliger and Mabillard. So if you like a comfortable coaster and smoothly floating airtime you should consider riding Silver Star. All in all both coaster are worth the ride because they represent different philosophies in defining airtime. This difference in the definition of airtime is the most important reason why people at onride argue about the the question, which one's the best between the two of them since those coasters opened. My suggestion is to ride both of them if your journey-planning allows this. You won't regret it. I really like riding both of them, although I like Expedition GeForce a little bit more. And if I'm honest then I must say, that it is nearly impossible to compare those two coasters, so the best thing is to experience both of them. Ah, before I forget it: That's the way from Frankfurt a. M. to the Holiday Park, the home of Expedition GeForce:  Quelle: holiday-park.de karte.gif HERE you can find the park's homepage in English language. The Europa Park, the home of Silver Star, is only about 2 hours by car south of the Holiday Park. Just take the A 65 to Karlsruhe, then switch to the A5 to Freiburg / Basel, exit 57b. In the evening you can make your way back to Frankfurt within approximately 2 till 3hours, by taking the A5 with the driections Karlsruhe, Frankfurt. You reach Frankfurt without changing the motorway, so just stay on the A5 up north. If you are not too slow, you can manage it to ride both coasters in one day. Spending the morning at the Holiday Park at Hassloch and the afternoon at the Europa Park is possible without any bigger problems, if you don't want to ride every ride the parks are offering. So if you concentrate on the big coaster, you can have the comparison within hours.

Thanks for help Helicop. This is what I was looking for. Although I'm considering to try both coasters, I have a feeling that EGF will be much more fun for me. I rode Goliath at Walibi World and I'm pretty used to Goliath and seek for more intense thrills. I knew it is difficult to compare B&M rides to Intamin ones as they are different companies.
How does EGF appear in compare to Goliath at Walibi World? They are both Intamin airtime machines. Goliath is the only mega coaster I have ever ridden so I might have better imagination on what kind of thrills I can expect from EGF. Goliath produces some long-lasting negative G forces (airtime) but not that intense as I was expected. |

For me, Expedition GeForce is better than Goliath, too...
The First Drop and the Airtime in Germany are better but Goliath has a Stengel Dive and the end of Goliath is better... Go to Holiday Park and you will see |

Thanks those who helped me providing some details and info on how to get to Holiday Park and Europa Park. I have managed both trips and finally I can make my own judgement.
Expedition GeForce is way better. More intense airtime and more airtime hills. I have figured out that B&M hypers are floaters. There are no strong negative G's but 0 G hills. |

Nice to hear you had a good time!
Seems like you have to come back to germany next year in case you want to ride Black Mamba at Phantasialand 
And Walibi World is also just a good 2-hours-trip from there away so maybe you want to go on another tour. |

I look forward to finding out in July. GeForce is legendary amongst many enthusiasts that I've spoken too, whereas Silver Star seems to be one of those coasters that looks better than it rides (I won't judge till I ride it though). I love ejector airtime, so my bet's are on GeForce being the better of the two. | |||

Silver Star is only a big silver kiddicoaster on a parking zone 
Clearly is EGF not so luxurious than Silver Star, but EGF had more corners an more flair than Silver Star. You´ll find no other coaster like EGF in Germany. If you want to relax drive SisSta, but if you wants to have action drive EGF. But this is only my opinion. grezze Patrick |

For everybody, who wants to spend a few days in an amazing german amusement park, Silverstar in the Europe Park ist the better option. You have more opportunities to spend your day, the park is hugh and detailled themed. For our thrillseakers: Take a ride at Expedition GeForce. One of the best coasters in Europe. Well, I think EGF and Sista are two totally different rollercoasters. Admittedly both coasters are
high and fast, but there some things I like more at Silverstar and more I like at EGF. The Airtime for example, Sista has a great floating airtime where you simply can enjoy it and get the feeling to fly through the air. On EGF you get the feeling you will "eject" from your seat - and at the moment i don't really know which kind of airtime I like more because they have both their incitements. EGF is for me "the rough ride with a jeep through the jungle" and Sista is comparable with a "ride with a luxurious car - cruising around". Greets Frossi |

I don't know for sure which one I would prefer as I haven't had the pleasure of riding them.
They both did well in last year's World Steel Roller Coaster Rankings with EGF tied for #1 and Silver Star #69. Of the people who took the poll who had ridden both of them and expressed a preference for one or the other, 55 preferred EGF and 10 preferred SS. M. Hawker |
