I just found on the website of RNR this link to a KMG Diashow of their new Afterburner park model.
kmg.nl afterburner_park_dia.html
Does anybody know where this version is operating? S

Oh, how I love them. S

Looks really good; I like what they did. Aesthetically I prefer this to the model that has been successful so far at a few parks in the US and the one in the UK under licence from Chance (La Revolution at Knotts, Claw at Hersheypark, and Vortex at Thorpe).

I'm also curious where this one went to.

Hi Ian,

is this a Schwarzkopf Double-Looping which is in the
Background of the picture? If it is so, does it travel
through Canada or is it a fixed one?

Greetings!

Hi, Herr Rossi,

yes, this is the Schwarzkopf Double Looping that was produced by Anton Schwarzkopf. It is travelling with Canadian "Conklin's Shows" and is a transportable one. It is perhaps the most impressive ride of that showman.
There are as far as I know three versions of the double looping by Schwarzkopf:

- Colossus - the Fire Dragon, Lagoon Park, Farmington, Utah, USA
rcdb.com installationdetail197.htm
This is said to be the original Bruch / Kinzler coaster that travelled German fairs.

- Laser, Dorney Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
According to a spokesman of Dorney Park this used to be the version that Schwarzkopf originally produced for German showman/park owner Löffelhardt that he used for travelling through Southamerica. (The one that received the second looping as a later "add on")
rcdb.com installationdetail240.htm

- Double Looping (or is it called and signed as "Doppel Looping"?)
showman "Conklin Shows"

There used (?) to be a stationary version in Japan's Portopialand Kobe which was produced in combination with Japanese manufactor Meisho.
rcdb.com installationdetail1201.htm

Maybe there were several more being produced under this co-operation.

As a German I would say: "Na toll!" meaning at this
special moment "That sucks!" S

We in Germany, and especially Dusseldorf only get's
the "ready-to-rumble" Eurostar every year since 1995.
S

While such a fine ride as the Double-Looper travels
in another Continent.

I remember the time when "Thriller" came to the
Dusseldorf fun-fair very well, why did they sold it? S

Herr Rossi

Why did they sell it/them?

Don't you know the German expression
"Höher, schneller, weiter"

or spoken with the words of techno-star "Scooter":
"faster, harder, Scooter"

Of course a showman has to demonstrate potential for innovation.
If showman A is having a single looping coaster, showman B is buying a double looping coaster and gets the better contracts. Showman A sells his single loop coaster after having ordered a coaster with three loopings and is happy ever after. Just until, showman B is ordering a four looping coaster...
a neverending story?

I can also remember seeing an Afterburner 24 in Bakken last year. Sadly I can't recall if it was a transportable one or not. I have to check the photos, but mabye it wasn't even a real KMG afterburner, but just some kind of clone...

You have got to be joking; I would take Eurostar over Dopple Looping any day!

Dopple Looping comes every year to the CNE (Toronto), I'm not sure if the coaster ever goes to the USA when Conklin goes down there during our winter.

Actually I'm not joking, just a bit frustated that the
"Rheinkirmes" at Dusseldorf never comes up with
another big coaster then "Eurostar" and this is
not a comfortable ride. Meaning if you ride it,
headbanging gets a new definition! S

For about 8 years the "Eurostar" keeps travelling
and it won't get better year by year. But I guess
that the Double Looping has similar problems, or
is it a smooth ride?

I don't think it has been mentioned but Bakken in Denmark has an Afterburner: bakken.dk fireball_copy.jpg
This one is named Fire Ball.
Too bad I had ridden the Moser Extreme just before this one so I couldn't fully appreciate the fast spinning and high flying ride. It was very nice though.

Actually Dopple Looping is very smooth. It is also very loud... but 2 years ago it underwent a massive refurbishment and ever since it looks like it is brand new. People who ride it do not realize it's 25 years old.

Regardless I think Eurostar is more impressive. But I haven't done it so "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" S

Axels of Sweden are 5 different companies owned by the 5 brothers of the Anderson family.

Other Afterbuner rides they have will be a new Afterbuner 16 \ Freakout and a Far Fabbri Afterburner called Space Jam.

The Extreme is owned by Tony, The other Jimmy I think while Space Jam is owned by Pierre Anderson.

I'll get pics later its 3 AM.

Since I don't know if razibo used the correct word, I'll just describe what's written there instead of translating it.
It's a warning that the floor below the gondola is lowered before the ride starts in order to give riders enough space for their feet. (After the ride it raises again for the riders to exit the gondloa and for new riders to board the ride)...

So it's dangerous to be under the lowering part of the floor when it comes down - but who in the world would crawl under the ride while it is in operation?
