I am an editor for Parksmania (an italian association of amusement park enthusiasts).

After the world cup ended someone in Parksmania staff decided to make a poll which resembled the football world cup, but for parks (and not football teams)!
It would be nice if some of you would like to take part in it, as it gives more of an "international flavour" to the competition!

Get ready for the start of Mondial Park!

Mondial Park is the world cup of parks, where 32 teams of 32 different nations will play putting their best “park” on the pitch.
The nations are divided into 8 groups, like in the real world cup. In some cases, the nations have been substituted with others close enough that had parks to play with.
Mondial Park starts on Monday 17th July 2006 (to let Italians finish cheering) and will last for 2 weeks, excluding weekends, according to the schedule that follows below.
The matches of the eliminatory phase and the match will be the same as 2006 World cup, we will see if the results are going to be the same.

Naturally, to find the winner we need your help!

To let your team win, you have to vote for the one you want in each match. (The matches consist of surveys; goals are users’ votes). Attention: You do not have to vote for the football team or the nation but the amusement park which represents the team.
The matches will always start at 9.30 pm (BST + 1.00 h), all together, and will finish after 90 minutes (which will be the time the survey will be open).
During the group stage, winners will gain 3 points, 1 for drawing, and 0 for losing.
After the group stage, the first two teams of each group will pass to the next stage. In case of draws, goal differences will be considered and if this is still the same the highest number of goals will be calculated.
In the second phase, in case of draws after 90 minutes there will be extra time (30 minutes). If also after the extra time the situation does not change the team who has more points in the group stage will win (or total number of goals).
So…Monday it will start and on Friday 28th of July we will proclaim the World Park Champion.

Tuesday 18th July: Group Stage – 16 matches (two for each group)
Wednesday 19th July: Group Stage – 16 matches (two for each group)
Thursday 20th July: Round of 16 (A,B,C,D matches)
Friday 21st July: Round of 16 (E,F,G,H matches)
Monday 24th July: Quarter-finals (all matches)
Tuesday 25th July: Semi-finals (all matches)

All the polls will take place in the reality game section of the forum!
