Astana (kapp 880.000 EW) ist die Hauptstadt von Kasachstan (knapp 18 Mio. EW) und soll wohl ihr eigenes neues Vergnügungsviertel bekommen. "Meruyert Theme Park" der Name, darunter:

[...] "The project will be launched in stages, since such parks are not built in five-seven years. For example, Disneyland was under construction for 60 years. The first stage of construction will include children’s rides and attractions and parking lots. We also decided to construct a water park, since there is no such huge water park in Astana,” said investors’ representative Maxim Yun during a presentation to the city planning council.
[...] The project will be executed in four stages beginning this year. The first stage includes a trade and entertainment centre, hotels and restaurants, a Ferris wheel, roller coasters, virtual reality pavilions, an artificial island with a pirate theme and an artificial ice maze.

Der Artikel kann gut runtergelesen werden, daher gar nicht mehr so viel mehr dazu. Eröffnung soll 2025 sein, da aber jetzt bereits Baustart sein soll, wäre der erste Bereich wohl schon 2020/21 fällig; wäre es nur ein Wasserpark wohlmöglich 2019.
